I was at the pharmacy yesterday and I saw this gold / silver glitter nail polish. It was calling out my name, so just had to get it :) I think it's so pretty and girly but still edgy. I only applied it to one nail for now, but might do all my nails tonight with the weekend coming up and all :) Anyway I am in love with this combination! I think the grey really compliments the silver and gold glitter flecks.

Last Day With Kim

Today is Kim's last day here in New York and we will definitely miss her! Whenever someone comes to visit, it brings people together and you end up seeing and doing things you wouldn't have otherwise. Last night we went out to eat at an adorable little French / Belgian restaurant called La Petite Abeille. It's so cute and cozy in there (another great place to go if you're visiting New York). I also loved the fact that they actually spoke French!

The next time I'll be seeing Kim is in Holland! I've never been and would love to visit this summer with Em.

Bold Lip Colors

Whenever I'm in a hurry but still want to look somewhat glam, I put my hair up in a sleek ponytail, apply a light layer of foundation, a couple coats of mascara and go for a bold lip color. It really makes it look like you put a lot of effort in to your look, when you really didn't :)

I know some people are afraid of bold colors, but I just happen to love them and think they look great on everyone. If you're new to makeup, or are unsure of wearing bold colors, begin by just applying your lip color as a stain by tapping the color on to your lips, as opposed to in long strokes. A tip for making it blend naturally, is to gently rub the color in with your finger so it melts into the lips.

I bought these two berry / pink colored lipsticks today from the drugstore. I'm so happy I found them because I was looking for this exact color! The first is a lipstick by Maybelline in the color Hooked On Pink. It's really creamy and the color is gorgeous. The second one is a lip pencil by Rimmel called Indian Pink (love the name!). I love wearing lip pencils as lipsticks because they last a lot longer and the finish is truly matte, which is my favorite.

Hey everyone, right now I'm relaxing and looking through some pictures from Friday night's "festivities" lol. We took so many! I never use to take lots of pictures before but I think it's really worth it in the end. It's always nice looking back at fun times with your friends. You may notice (or not lol) that I look a little more tanned than usual, and its because I'm trying out a self tanner by l'Oreal called Sublime Bronze. So far so good! I'm planning on using it a couple more times to get a good sense of it, then I'll do a little review of it here on my blog, "sunshine in a bottle?" :)

This is what I wore on Friday. I wanted to wear something bright and picked out this neon green/yellow top by H&M and paired it with a chunky gold necklace from Aldo. My blazer is to die for! It's also by H&M but unfortunately you can't really see the detail in this picture. It's very structured and has amazing bold shoulders. It compliments the flowy top really well.

Dinner took place at Sushi Samba, a Japanese - Latin fusion restaurant. Definitely a fun place to check out if you visit New York. So delicious (and quite healthy)!

Comedy Night

My cheeks are hurting... and I can feel my abs got a work out :) I just came back from a really fun night out with my friends. Emily's cousin, Kim, is visiting from Holland (woot!) for 10 days so this weekend will be fun! We decided to go to a comedy show tonight and shows like this can either be a hit or miss. Thankfully it was a hit! We were seated RIGHT in front of the stage, and of course got picked on all night lol. The place was small and cozy with a real old hollywood feel. There were about 5 different comedians performing, each with their unique style. I liked the last performance the best because the comedian kept feeding off of the crowd and the jokes weren't "planned", so it was natural and flowed really well.

I wore a black long-sleeve scoop-back top from Zara, with my favorite leather leggings from H&M. I love these two together because the flowy top really balances out the tough leather. I wore black suede booties along with my fur collar and a beige rain jacket. Kept my accessories minimal, with my rose gold Michael Kors watch and big diamond earrings.

Lower East Side, Paris

Last night, I went to this absolutely gorgeous little restaurant in the lower east side. I'd heard of it many times, but never actually been to it. It looked like it was right out of a story book. I snapped this quick picture with my phone to send to my friend and it actually turned out pretty good. The restaurant continues back into a bigger room, decorated with these gorgeous little lights. I love the small chairs and tables, it reminds me exactly of Paris. It's so cozy! I was only there for a short while for a meeting, but will definitely be back. We shared the tuna tartar, it was delicious!

We Will Always Love You

I was almost brought to tears last night when I saw the news coverage on Whitney Houston's death. In my mind, Michael Jackson was the King and she was the Queen, and to have talent that great gone, is very sad. I remember when I was 15 years old, I bought the "Best of Whitney" CD and played it non stop for months! Her incredible voice gave me the chills. Me and my mom loved her music. No doubt did she have her public struggles in the media, but I always hoped she would come back strong and fierce, and kick butt like she did in the 80's! The entertainment industry is a though world and sometimes the negativity can get the best of a person. I hope this will serve as an example to the world that dealing with pain by using drugs and alcohol is never the right way to go, whether you're famous or not.

And above all, talking bad, bullying and gossiping about anyone is pointless and only makes this world grim. Instead, we need to empower one another, bring out the best in people and experience joy - and that's what I think Whitney did through her music for us.

Her incredible voice, her spirit and the happiness she spread throughout the world is what should be remembered!

Here is one of my favorite songs by Whitney (recorded when she was only 24), which I still jam out to in my apartment! :) Another one of my favorites is "My Love is Your Love".

Hot Rollers

Yay it's the weekend! Got a good 9 hours of beauty sleep last night and woke up this morning to a snowy New York. It's the first time its snowed since I've been back, the weather here has been totally bizarre. But I'm not going to complain cause I love the warmth and spring time is right around the corner!

Today I attempted to put my hair in hot rollers for the very first time! Let me just say, it's not as easy as I thought it would be! It took me a few attempts to get the hair rolled into place, and to make the pin stay properly in the roller. But practice makes perfect and I eventually got them into place... sort of :)

I left the rollers in whilst I did my makeup and cleaned up my apartment, so for about 30 minutes.

I used the Conair Instant Heat Rollers & a small spritz of Elnett to set the curls

I really love the way it came out. It's looks big, natural and wavy! It's also much less damaging for your hair than using a curling iron, since these rollers don't get as hot. Definitely going to try this again :) Let me know if you've used hot rollers before and what you thought.

Casual Friday

Hey everyone! I just came back from a lovely dinner with friend Emily - the one with the gorgeous green eyes :) We had sushi uptown at a really cute place that had a huge Buddha in it, similar to Buddha Bar, but more casual. Always love hanging out with her!

I wanted to do a proper outfit post but was really running late so I just snapped a quick picture before leaving. I recently got this gorgeous silver sequined top from Zara, which I paired with dark blue demins and classic white converse. Of course my new Aldo bag & fur collar go with me everywhere these days :)

This was so exciting to see! My dads cousin is in the new NBC's show called SMASH. I watched the first episode on Monday and it's so good! I love the glamour of it. So in the pyramid of people shown, he's the 2nd one from the left (with dark hair). He plays Katherine McPhee's boyfriend ♥ He used to perform in the broadway play Mama Mia in London for several years. So happy for him!

Questions! Health, Hair & Confidence

How do you cut your hair? Do you color it?
One of the most asked questions I get is about my hair color :) My natural hair color is medium brown, which makes up about 90% of my hair color, the other 10% is highlighted. When I highlight (very small strands), I always get a blonde caramel tone and a gold toned highlight, and my stylist alternates them. I only highlight the top half of my hair. I haven't done this, however, since last August. I've recently been using honey and coconut oil to naturally lighten my hair. It works but takes a few times to see the effect. And my hair is cut in long layers in a V shape :)

My current hair color. As you can see the highlights have grown out since August :) Will continue with my natural honey lightening.

I would love your opinion on natural shampoos & conditioners that don't contain all those horrible ingredients like silicon & parabens. I have tried a few however they left my hair feeling really dry.
Shampoos are meant to clean, not really moisturize. So what you need is a good conditioner. Try at home ones, they work great and are completely natural! Read reviews about products before buying them (makeupalley is a great website for that). That helps eliminate lots of trial & error. Natural brands I like are Nature's Gate, Jason Natural and Giovanni.

How much and what kind of exercise do you do? And how do you stay so strict on healthy food?
I try to be active every day eg. I'll use the stairs instead of elevator / escalator, I walk instead of taking a taxi or subway, I dance in my apartment (yes lol) etc... I do "formal" gym workouts whenever I get the chance, which is rare these days, so I try to incorporate as much natural exercise as I can (have also been doing workout DVD's at home and I love it). I eat healthy because I eat for my body, not for my emotions. I know what my body likes, and I feed it accordingly :)

I used to be 20kg (40lbs) heavier than I am now. I learned how to eat right and exercise, that is the only way :)

I’m a little bit insecure and I have low self-esteem. I would like to know what to do to get better and what are your tips for a person like me.
Having a good self-esteem and confidence is all about trusting yourself, being your best friend and knowing your own worth. You have to LOVE yourself (not in a conceited way, but in a healthy way). Get to know yourself and write down what you really admire and love about yourself, and start to think "Hey I'm a pretty good person!". Always know that you are more beautiful than you believe, smarter than you think and capable of anything in this world. Have a good attitude and you wont only be confident, but you will also attract positive things (people, situations, ideas) into your life.

When you're positive, you will attract positive like minded friends :)

You said you had stubborn acne on your forehead and chin, are you referring to blackheads and clogged pores? I have the same thing and i was wondering if "The Regimen" cured that for you?
The acne.org system really worked well for me. I am not sponsored or affiliated with them in any way, and purchase their products every 3 months or so. I am a loyal fan! The acne that I had before wasn't red or inflamed, but it was these stubborn little pimples under my skin that never went away. The 2% BP treatment really helped with that. I've cut down on the amount of treatment since my skin doesn't need much anymore. The "glow" and overall health of your skin however, mostly derives from the food you eat. Include lots of fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet and don't forget to drink water! :)

Do you use some light/lamp in front of the camera to record videos, or you're facing a window using natural light?

I just use natural light from my window :)

Filming can get a little messy sometimes :)

I am going to NY in about a month with a group of friends (a sex & the city trip ;)). I noted down all the products that you suggested which I found useful for my skin and I am struggling in planning where to find them. Do you have any particular suggestion where to go for beauty products (for makeup, haircare, visage creme)?
Your trip sounds so fun! I am sure you and your friends will have a fabulous time here. Yes, Sephora is a must (you might get lost there for at least an hour)! The great time about the states are the drugstores (or in Europe we call them pharmacies). Here they're huge and stocked with lots of beauty products. Also check out Saks Fifth Avenue and Bloomingdales, they both have an entire floor dedicated to high end cosmetics. New York also has various Beauty Supply Stores that are always fun to look in and carry a really big selection of products. Have fun!

Som några av er kanske vet, är jag född i Sverige och anser mig vara svensk. Det är så roligt att veta att jag har svenska tittare och läsare, hela vägen från Amerika! Många av er ville veta vilken del av Sverige jag kommer från - och det är Göteborg.

Även då jag flyttade från Sverige när jag var yngre, minns jag fortfarande hur det var att leva där, som det vore igår! Det är roligt att tänka sig att när jag flyttade till Schweiz, kunde jag knappt prata engelska (eller franska!) :)

Sista gången jag var i Sverige var för några år sedan. Vi åkte till Stockholm, Göteborg naturligtvis, och besökte min mormor som bor på landet i Blekinge (pussar till dig mormor!).

Pink Friday

I was in desperate need of a good manicure today. When the weather is dry and cold, my hands and nails WILL retaliate if I dont treat them right. So whilst choosing amongst the array of colors, I saw the new Nicki Minaj by OPI collection, and this bubble gum pink color immediately caught my eye. It's appropriately called "Pink Friday". It is very opaque, meaning the color literally turns out the way you see it in the bottle. The color is definitely "Barbie", but it's growing on me and I kinda like it!

Starting full time classes again has definitely taken up a lot of time, but I am looking forward to graduation which is right around the corner! I've also been doing lots of work on my channel (it's undergoing a makeover) so as soon as that's done, I'll be back to posting more videos!

New Shoes

These are probably one of the most amazing pair of shoes I've ever seen at Zara. Beautifully embellished in black diamonds. They have Annie written all over them lol :) Of course I had to get them and they were only $79! I think these could pass for $800 Louboutins. These will go great with so many outfits. I think they would look amazing with skinny black jeans, a nice flowy top and a black blazer. Sexy & chic!

I'm definitely looking forward to wearing these bad boys in the spring!

I'm also happy because there will be some new changes happening to my YouTube and blog in the next month (all great!) and I'm excited to share them with you soon. Today I'm off to class and will be back home later to edit my new video. Hope everyone's had a great weekend!

Last night, two of my best friends and I went out for a little girls night, which was definitely needed! We had such a fun time catching up and dancing. We have actually known each other for years (since high school in Geneva) and all ended up living in the same place for university. Funny how things work out :)

How do you clean your makeup brushes and keep them bacteria free?
I clean my brushes with brush shampoo (either by ELF or bySephora). These are anti bacterial shampoos so it kills all the germs andremoves makeup and oils. I clean my eye shadow brushes once to twice a week,and my face brushes every time before I use them. I’m a clean freak when itcomes to my face so I put in the extra time to make surethey're squeaky clean.

Do you drink coffee?

I had a coffee phase a few years ago but it started making me feeljittery, so now I drink tea instead. Green tea is my fav!

Why don't you wear makeup everyday?

On a daily basis, I wear a light powder foundation, eyebrow shadow, mascara and a hint of blush. I avoid liquid as much as I can to allow my skin to breath. I accept that my natural skin tone is not 100% even and don't worry about it too much :)

Do you model?

I am not a professional model by any means but I would love to dosome real modeling in the future.

You look like you have perfect skin. What do you do to keep itclear?

My skin is a nightmare to take care of, I literally have to treatit like my little baby. I am so careful with it because it breaks out very easilyand is sensitive to a lot of ingredients. I have two videos on skin care andthe products I use but then again, skin care varies from person to person. Youneed to get to know your skin and know what works best for you by trial anderror. I do have two natural face masks that work for everyone though. One ispure honey and the other is sea salt and water. Both work amazingly! Drinkinglots of water & eating the right food is also important.

How do you get away with only washing your hair twice a week sinceyou exercise regularly?

If my hair is feeling a little sweaty from a workout, I don't holdback from rinsing it with water when I take a shower. I should say, I only shampoo my hair twice a week! :) Shampoo canreally strip your hair, so that's why I only use it twice a week.

Have you ever been to California? If so what part?

YES to LA and loved it! The weather there is too amazing. I can definitely see myself living there in the future.

What is your favorite blush & bronzer?

I have a few favorites but right now my fav has been "Sweet & Spicy" by Hard Candy. Its multi-tonal so it looks really natural and gorgeous. I haven't found my HG bronzer yet, but I use the NYC sunny bronzer to contour which works well.

What did you love most about living in Geneva?
I LOVE Geneva so much! Its probably one of the most beautiful places in the world, especially during the summer. My family lives there so that's probably my first favorite thing :) It's so small and cute, totally different from where I live now. Although I miss it sometimes, I'm very happy living in NY :)

Every time someone comes over it's the first thing they comment on "Oh my gosh you have a GOLD DOOR!"

Here's a yummy lunch idea! Today I had this delicious couscous salad with wheatberry, spinach, almonds, walnuts and cranberries. Its one of my favorite things to buy from my grocery store (they make it fresh) but I'm sure this is easily made at home. Its very filling and tastes delicious. I had this with some fresh juice (lol I know super healthy but I love it!).

Top Knot

Since I only wash my hair twice a week (YES its true lol) by the third day, I like to wear my hair up in a high bun (sometimes a messy one, sometimes a sleek one). But I think it is one of the most fool-proof ways to rocking a bad hair day! You can really tailor it to your mood, outfit and/or occasion.

In these pictures I'm wearing my "classic bun" but positioned it on top of my head and a little to the side, to give it an extra bohemian, 80's look. I used a brown hair tie, but for occasions when I want a more sophisticated sleek bun, I use bobby pins to pin it in place.

I absolutely love having my hair up and I think it makes ALL women look so chic and sexy. It makes your face shine and shows off your neck and chest. When I have my hair up this way, I also love wearing a bold lip color, like a nice red or bright pink. That combination makes me ooze :)

So, if you're ever having a bad hair day, just throw it up in a little bun ♥

After class today I went into Aldo do have a look around and saw this gorgeous black leather messenger bag, called the "Kessell" on sale for $39.90!

It was love at first sight ♥

This bag is great because it has a long strap so I can wear it across my body, depending on what look I'm going for.

And the interior is also leopard skin, woop!

It's so nice to find things you LOVE and know you'll wear a ton of times, AND have them be on sale! Good day :)

Hi everyone! Hope you had a great weekend. My last day in Toronto today, have had such a great time here. Last night we headed into the city to have dinner and decided to get a little glammed up.

I used my newly purchased Naked 2 palette, which has some gorgeous shades in it. First, I sweeped "snakebite"all over my lid and blended up into my crease. Then I applied a little bit of "chopper" on the inner half of the lid, to bring more light to the area. And then used "darkhorse" from the first Naked palette in my crease and under my lash line. I lined my eyes with a liquid liner and gave it a little cat-eye flick, and then applied some mascara.

This is the restaurant we went to called Ciao Wine Bar. It was one of the prettiest restaurants I've been to! This was the first weekend of Winterliscious so they had a really delicious prix fixe menu.

Driving back, I quickly snapped a picture of the Rogers Center, home of the Blue Jays (even though we rep the Yankees!).

Although I don't normally drink coffee, I had to try a Canadian specialty :)

We are off to the airport now, will talk to you all in New York ♥

I've always been a strong believer in positive thinking, dreaming big and doing things I LOVE everyday. The movie, "The Secret", is one of those powerful movies that can really change your life.

You can also convert this into an audio file and listen to it on the go.

The Secret Summarized

The first step is to think and imagine great things for your life. Make a vision board, dream big! (Good health, love, money, happiness etc) We attract what we think.
Then begin to listen for signs and/or ideas on how you can create these dreams. (I get a lot of ideas when I'm relaxed in the shower.)
Now, act upon them. These little ideas will lead to others and before you know it you are living your dream.

Just got ready to go out to dinner and wanted to take a quick picture of what I'm wearing. I've really been into wearing all black with nice accessories. The faux fur collar is by H&M and have had it for three years, its great because it goes with everything! My watch is by Michael Kors (rose gold), my necklace is by H&M (the one featured in my last video), and both my jeans and top are by Zara. I'm also going to wear my dark brown biker boots with this. Simple and easy but still nice!

Happy Friday

Happy Friday everyone! Last night we made the most delicious grilled chicken fajitas. We wanted to make it as fresh as possible so we headed to the grocery store and got some green salad, tomatoes, avocados, fresh cheddar, whole wheat wraps and grilled rotisserie chicken. It only took us a few minutes to prepare and was so satisfying.

And of course had to get some hummus lol ♥

Tonight we are going to the movies and later might be heading to a club called This is London, looks pretty! This is also the first weekend of "Winterlicious" in Toronto (like Restaurant Week in New York) so we're currently researching where to go. If you live in Toronto, what's your favorite restaurant? My Diet

"What does your diet consist of on a day to day basis?"

I'm not one of those lucky people that can eat whatever they want and not gain weight, so I really watch what I eat and I workout. I've never believed in weird diet fads (or simply not eating at all) because those methods may help you loose a few pounds fast, but you'll end up gaining it all back as soon as you stop dieting. The best way to go is to eat right and to move your body. Below is a list of foods I like to eat :) These are the ones I can think of right now, but if I remember others I'll go back and list them.

Breakfast

I try to start the day off with fresh juice (with fruits and veggies) then I might have either:
- whole wheat cereal with almond or coconut milk (I try to buy cereal as pure as possible, eg. shredded wheat - no sugar or additives)
- whole wheat toast with jam / turkey
- fruits like bananas, apples, oranges

Lunch / Dinner / Snacks that I make when I'm home:
- hummus with baby carrots / cucumber / peppers
- hummus with anything (love it!)
- whole wheat toast with avocado (sometimes also add smoked salmon)
- quinoi and pasta sauce with steamed broccoli, carrots & kale (I have a video on this)
- scrambled eggs, whole wheat toast, hummus, tomato
- whole wheat pasta with tomato sauce
- salads (all different types)
- sushi (with brown rice)

When I'm eating at a restaurant:
Since I don't eat out too much, when I do go out I eat pretty much anything. I obviously try to pick healthier choices, but if I feel like having a pizza or something with more carbs, I dont restrict myself. When I'm home and make food for myself, I make sure its healthy. So when I go out I don't really think about it too much. You have to have a balance :)

Drinks
- water
- green tea
- fresh juice

The main thing I focus on when eating, is making sure its as PURE and unprocessed as possible (because that's just the way our body likes it!). It may seem bland or boring, but the payoff is pretty damn good :)

Hi everyone!

I arrived in Toronto last night and feels great to be here with my friend :) I thought NYC was cold, but the weather here is like 10 times colder! This type of weather makes me research vacation packages online (have checked out resorts in Mexico and the Dominican Republic lol can't help but dream about the sun). Hopefully the next trip I go on will involve the beach! ♥

Hi everyone! Just uploaded my latest video which features some new clothing items I've picked up recently. As said in the video, I am going to be extra smart about clothes shopping this year. I want to focusing on buying key pieces that will act as staples in my wardrobe :) Will keep you updated on that!

I think my favorite purchase are these beige suede booties! Too cute.

Tomorrow I'm flying to Toronto for the week! I am super excited :) I'll be there visiting my close friend and will try make a little vlog while I'm there. I'll also upload some pictures up of my trip to my blog. I know I have viewers and readers from Toronto so just want to give you all a little shout out and tell you I'm excited to come to your city!

Lip Love

"What do you do to keep your lips healthy and beautiful?"

1. I moisturize them with lip balm. Some of my favorite ones are Smith's Rosebud Salve, EOS lip balm (round little ball) and 100% pure jojoba oil (great for before going to bed).

2. I avoid biting and touching them too much during the day to prevent premature wrinkles.

3. I gently brush my lips with my toothbrush to exfoliate dead skin. This also helps plump them up and brings out their natural pink color ♥

Beauty Drink

Good morning everyone! I woke up early as I have a ton of stuff to do today and wanted to make a fresh juice to start the day off right. I never stick to a strict recipe when making juice, and I always try to incorporate a variety of different fruits and veggies. So every day is a little different :)

Today I used: kale, beets, apples, celery, a carrot, ginger and lemon

This is my juicer, as you may have seen in my juicing video. It is the Breville Juice Fountain Plus and works really well.

Today I decided to do something different! I was watching itsjudyslife the other day on youtube, and her husband made a juice similar to this one. But before drinking it, he puts the juice in a blender with spinach. The spinach totally liquifies! This is great because you also get your fiber since you're not only extracting the juice. Plus spinach is amazing for you!

Here is the juice after putting all those veggies and fruits down the juicer. Now its time to add this to the blender.

And voila!! Super nutritious and this provides me with all my vitamins, minerals, amino acids and goodness. I try doing this every morning :)

Back in New York!

I am back in New York! Woot woot :) I filmed two videos today and now just waiting for them to upload, which usually takes about 2 - 3 hours since the quality is pretty high. It feels good to be home again! Got woken up this morning at 5am by snow plowers scraping the street. It's loud and busy, but you gotta love this city.

Got a little dolled up today for the video :) I used a clip less wand to do my hair. I just wrap the hair around the wand going backwards, which allows the hair to stay out of your face. I apply a tiny amount of moose and a spritz of hairspray to keep it in place.

Tonight I'm going out with my friend Emily for some healthy food at a cute little place here called Souen. The videos are almost uploaded! Will edit them and have the first one up soon :) Hope everyone has a great night! xoxo

Express Yourself, Girl!

I just came across this video on YouTube and thought it was fab. Something I've been able to practice more and more in the past year is the ability to be FREE and express myself without worrying about what other people think. That is one of the best feelings in the world.

This video represents that freedom for these ladies! :)

Perhaps dressing in extreme clothing just isn't quite your thing, but I think we all have things we want to do but we feel restricted in doing them in fear of what other people will think. Let this video be PROOF that we all deal with issues like that but at the end of the day its about having FUN, accomplishing your dreams and letting loose.

Beautiful Bright Eyes

"Do you have any tips on how to prevent dark under eye circles?"

1. Sleep, sleep SLEEP! :) I try to get at least 7 to 8 hours of sleep a night.

2. If you tend to wake up with puffy / swollen eyes, put two small spoons in the freezer before you go to bed and in the morning, place the cold spoons over your eyes and relax for a few minutes. This will help de-puff the eyes, increase circulation and make you look awake.

3. Puffy eyes can also be a result of sleeping on your face too much, and/or rubbing your eyes when you sleep. Try to sleep on your back or on your side but making sure you're not placing too much weight on your eyes. This will also help prevent thinning of the skin, thus wrinkles.

4. Its important to moisturize the under eye area since the skin is more fragile there then anywhere else on our face.

5. As for darker colored skin around the eye, I recommend avoiding any whitening treatments and just stick to good old concealer & highlighter! Don't be embarrassed and don't feel the need to always conceal them.

6. Eat well and keep hydrated with water! Salty foods and alcohol can really dry you up internally, so try avoiding that as much as you can. Eating healthy will provide you with lots of vitamins and essential nutrients your body needs to keep it looking gorgeous.

Leopard Couch & Red Lips? Fab!

I absolutely love a bold lip on anyone. It instantly brightens up your face and makes an impact without saying a word. Although this lipstick looks like it has a pinkish tint, its truly a matte red lipstick.

In these pictures I'm wearing one of my favorite reds of the moment called "Russian Red" by MAC. If you do however like the pinkish tone, I would recommend trying "Girl About Town" by MAC also... it's g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s!

It feels so good to be home with my family! I'll be flying back to New York next week and I'm excited for all the great things to come in 2012. I have added quite a few goals to my list for this year. One including to take more photos! Time seems to fly by faster than ever these days, and one of the things I love the most is looking back at pictures of fun times. I'll be sharing a lot more on my blog this year which I'm excited for :)

At the Beach... Almost!

One of the best things about going to the beach is the salt water. It always clears my skin up and leaves it smooth and soft.

My skin recently started breaking out really bad. The reason? Nutella and too much dairy! Because I usually don’t eat chocolateand a lot of dairy in New York (I'm currently at home in Geneva), my body totally reacted to it.

I always break out when I eat chocolate so that was not ahuge surprise. But recently I found out that dairy products (milk, ice cream,cheese, yoghurt) can really affect your hormones, causing sudden skinbreakouts, increased perspiration, mood swings etc...

I decided to try a sea salt mask, and it worked wonders!! My skin feels like its been on a vacation ♥

I miss the beach! This photo was taken a couple years ago. (Bikini is from Forever 21)

Benefits of Sea Salt:

Detoxifier = it removes toxins from the skin
Gentle exfoliator
Powerful antiseptic = kills germs
High in minerals
Best of all, its 100% natural & inexpensive

Sea Salt Mask

Add seasalt to distilled warm water (using either filtered or boiled water to remove impurities)
For an extra boost, add a few drops of lemon juice
Soak up the mixture with a cotton pad, andgently pat on to face
Leave for 10 – 30 mins
Rinse with warm water and pat dry

Sea Salt Scrub

Mix rawhoney and sea salt
Gently apply to face in circular motions (thiswill boost circulation and remove dead skin cells)
Leave for 10 – 40 mins
Rinse with warm water and pat dry

If you suffer from acne on your body, like on your back for example, make a bath and add sea salt to it. Soak and unwind in the bath for about 15 mins. Many people say this cleared their acne within a few days.

My skin has totally cleared up in just three days of doing this! (I've also laid off dairy and chocolate.) It’s practically free and this will be good for all skin types :)

Overall Opinion: The pigmentation is very good! The colors are easy to blend and have a gorgeous look on the eye. The amount of product you get is amazing for the price.

Overall Opinion: The pigmentation is not so good in this product. If you want a little hint of color, this shade would be perfect. I have not been able to try out the other shades yet, perhaps they are more pigmented. Plus side is that the amount of product you get (almost double that of NARS!).

Holiday Nails!

I am totally obsessed with this nail polish combination. I think its perfect for adding a little holiday glam without being overdone!

Step 1: Apply a nude / pink base color to each nail

I love this light pink one by Sephora called "Dear Diary". So pretty! But it does need about three coats for it to show up opaque. (Other nude colors I like are Malaysian Mist by OPI and Nude Now by Sally Hansen.)

Step 2: Apply gold glitter to pinky nail, and half of ring finger. My favorite is the Milani "Gold" nail polish.

Since this is a glitter, the way you apply it will be a lot different than a regular polish. Instead of sweeping this on, try dabbing it on until the whole area is covered.

Step 3: Apply a pink glitter over all areas where you applied the gold. I love using the Milani "Disco Lights" glitter for this.

This will make the nail polish look amazing! Just finish off with a top coat for some extra shine.

My Acne Cure!

I have been loving The Regimen products from Acne.org! I have had such great success using them so I wanted to share them with you (not sponsored).

I used to suffer from really bad skin about two years ago, and thankfully I was able to fight it. Unfortunately, I still got stubborn blemishes on my forehead and jaw area. As mentioned in my video, there are no set recipes in juicing, just do some research & experiment! :)

Ingredients used to make my juice:
- celery
- cucumber (1/2)
- carrots (2)
- beets (2)
- kale
- spinach
- apple (1)
- lemon (2)

The juicer I own is called the Breville Juice Fountain Plus. I did a lot of research before I bought it, and it is the best one I found for the price! I love it and I do recommend it for those of you who are interested in starting juicing.

Here are some vegetables that are great to add to your juice!

Greens with super antioxidants & vitamins:
- kale
- collard greens
- spinach
- cilantro
- celery
- cucumber

For a sweet taste add:
- carrots
- apples
- grapes
- beets

For extra taste (and immune strengthener) add:
- lemon (also a natural preservative to help keep juice fresh)

Thank you so much for the video on juicing! I was wondering though: is it super expensive to do? I mean can us poor college students afford it. How often do you have to go grocery shopping for it? Do you eat to when you juice or are you just outlying juicing now? Thanks! :)

Annie:

Yes I do eat other food too, otherwise I'd be withering away lol. As for the price, it is obviously more expensive than eating a hamburger, pasta or pizza, but eating healthy is one thing I spend money on because its something my body needs and depends on for a great & healthy life. There's a saying "you can either pay for it now, or pay for it later" as in rather spend the money on eating healthy, than on medical bills and medicine when you're 50 and suffering from all types of problems. With that said, I don't think it costs any astronomical amounts of money to juice either. And juicing can help you avoid so many other costly things like, if you suffer from terrible skin/ hair loss/ you get sick easily / depression / constant migraines - juice can cure all these symptoms whereas if you didn't take the preventative method, you'd be buying all those medicines to cure all those other problems, you know what I mean? Rather prevent and live nourished and thriving, than pick up the pieces of an unhealthy body & mind.. But that's just my opinion :) Thanks for your comment love! xoxo Annie

As long as you add lemon to your juice, you can keep it up to 3 days. But of course, it is best consumed right away! :)

I always peel my oranges and lemons, anything that has a thick skin, otherwise the juice will be very bitter. Everything else, just make sure you wash it thoroughly under water

This looks great... but don't you think it's better to make smoothies? that way you get the fiber from the veggies as well?

Annie:

You can't really putt leafy greens in a smoothy, but smoothies are great for soft fruit (I sometimes make a breakfast smoothie with banana, mixed berries, peach, greek vanilla yogurt, milk - YUM) but with juicing you really need to extract the liquid (vitamins) from the solid part.

How to: Healthy, Shiny, Long Hair!

More helpful tips:

DIET is a very important factor in having healthy hair! Eat a balanced diet with lots of fruit & veggies
Try to drink as much WATER as you can (you might have to run to the bathroom every hour - BUT it's worth it!!)
Avoid using a lot of heat in your hair. (Your hair is naturally beautiful girl!)
Get a lot of sleep & don't stress out too much (this causes grey hairs & fall out - eek!)
Only wash your hair every 3-4 days (The oils are good for your hair - kinda gross but it will get less greasy over time)
When you wash your hair, focus most of the massaging on the scalp, as that is what needs cleaning. Let the shampoo just run through the rest of your hair.

My Foundation Routine

Hi Lovely!

This is the foundation routine I do when I am filming or when I'm going out at night and want to look glam. This is not, however, what I do everyday. I explain more in the video :)

Being able to apply perfect concealer and foundation is only HALF the job to achieving great looking skin. The other half requires you to take excellent care of your skin (which I actually find really enjoying!)

Examples include:

- Drinking lots and lots of water
- Eating skin-nourishing foods
- Always remembering to remove your makeup before bed
- Pampering your skin with masks, exfoliators and moisturizers
- Wearing a broad spectrum (UVA & UVB) SPF
- etc...
